IPMA D

IPMA-D is the certification for the starting project manager, or the more experienced project employee with a need for theoretical substantiation.

During the IPMA-D trajectory you will acquire theoretical knowledge in all areas of project management. You will also learn to critically assess your own performance within projects.

IPMA-D consists of a Self-assessment and a theory exam. With a positive result you will receive the internationally recognized IPMA-D certificate and you are entitled to use the title "Certified Project Management Associate" .

The IPMA D training is given in 4 days and covers:

  • Focusing and Organizing : Starting up and organizing the project with a view to effective control and communication in relation to the business case and the interests of the various stakeholders.
  • Money in projects : Basic financial knowledge and support for investment decisions (business case).
  • Time in projects : Setting up a product-oriented planning, network planning, planning techniques,
  • Leadership and Behavior : Leadership models, group building and group dynamics, motivation and communication.

The training has a varied mix of theory (knowledge transfer), reflection, case studies and practical group assignments. During homework, the theory is further studied and the mock exam is practiced.

Study load

In addition to the contact hours, you must take 20 to 40 hours of homework / self-study into account.

In addition, you prepare for the exam by practicing on an IPMA e-learning site. This is available for 3 months from the first moment of logging in.

Objective

At the end of the training you are well prepared for the IPMA-D exam. The exam is not included in the course price.

Prerequisites

No specific prior education is required.

Self-assessment

You must complete a Self-assessment for the exam. You score yourself with a score of 1-10 on the competence elements of the ICB4. The Self-assessment serves as a reflection on your performance within projects. It is intended to allow the starting project manager, who wants to be IPMA D certified, to be aware of the profession. There is no right or wrong and your answers will not count towards the assessment. The Self-assessment is an international obligation and must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the exam. You complete the Self-assessment after registering on the portal.

Exam

The theory exam consists of multiple choice and open questions and lasts a total of 3 hours. The first part consists of 45 multiple choice questions with a time indication of 60 minutes. The second part contains open questions with a time indication of 120 minutes. The open questions consist of math questions, short open questions and short scenarios.

After successfully completing the exam, you will receive the internationally recognized IPMA-D certificate and you may call yourself a Certified Project Management Associate.
