Individually or for teams
If you treat someone the way they are, they will stay the way they are.
When you treat someone as if they were what they could be, they become what they could be ...Wolfgang Goethe
Why Coaching?
Coaching is the form of guidance that aims to change people in a positive sense, based on the change possibilities that lie in the interaction between insight and behavior.
The term comes from French ( coche ). Coach is the French and later English word for a car used to transport people from one place to another. Driving a carriage was called coaching.
Around 1840 the word coach was first used at the University of Oxford England to refer to a private tutor preparing students for an exam. 50 years later, the term was first mentioned in the sports world to refer to someone who supervised a rowing team.
In the 80s of the 20th century, the word coaching was introduced into business parlance and coaching became established.
Coaching is a form of personal guidance based on an equal one-on-one relationship. The coachee (coached) learns, the coach supports and guides this learning process.
Within the coaching process, the goals are predetermined by the coachee. The purpose of coaching is to increase the personal effectiveness and professional competence of the coachee. Coaching of groups is also possible. The coach then looks for collective patterns in behavior and thinking in the group.
Coaching can be substantive or more process-oriented. In substantive coaching, the coach is someone who has already gone through a certain process and who advises someone else on this.
With the process-based coach, more thought should be given to a mental coach who advises on how to deal with finding the right balance between life and work.
